Kindergarten Sight Words
Sight words are so important as your child learns to read. Knowing these words by sight allows him/her to focus more on the unknown words in a text. You can help by practicing these words at home. Make it a game! There are hundreds of ideas on Pinterest. Some include: Sight word bingo, sight word memory, writing the words in sand or shaving cream, making the word with playdough, and sight word tic-tac-toe. You can also have your child find the words in books around the house or playing a movement game where they have to tip-toe, crawl, hop, spin or baby-step to the word. Have fun with it!!
